|12:28 pm - snack food|
This weekend I made my own soy-nuts. It's extremely easy!
I just took 2 cups of dried soy beans, soaked them overnight, drained them well, spread them out on a cookie sheet and added salt, then baked them at 250F for 3 or so hours.
The first batch, I stirred around after an hour or so. The second batch, I didn't bother.
They are crispy and crunchy and just perfect. Yum!
my mom used to make those for me when i was a kid! i think she actually totally cooked them though, instead of just soaking them. so yum. now i haz a craving.

That sounds good.. maybe with a lil cayenne pepper?
I'm always so proud of myself when I make stuff like this, for some reason. I'm a pretty competent cook for the most part, but I get extra excited when I make snack foods.
Do you want to be friends on here? I added you, but I understand if you'd rather keep your LJ private - it's not quite Flickr, after all. :)
I do want to be friends on here! Yay! Thanks for letting me know you added me, I probably wouldn't have noticed for weeks.
